A brilliant triple win – NOK NOK picked up all the three awards from Tallinn Cocktail Week

For the second year in a row, our restaurant NOK NOK located in Tallinn’s Old Town and restaurant’s barmaid Jana Mitunevitš stood out at the Tallinn Cocktail Week competition organized by the Estonian Bartenders’ Association and brought home all the three awards – Best Bar/Restaurant 2021, Best Bartender 2021 and Best Cocktail 2021.

As a result of the public voting at Tallinn Cocktail Week:
– Best Bar/Restaurant 2021 is NOK NOK
– Best bartender 2021 is NOK NOK’s barmaid Jana Mitunevitš
– Best Cocktail 2021 is “Summer” by the NOK NOK’s barmaid Jana Mitunevitš

For the second year in a row, NOK NOK bartender Jana Mitunevitš stood out in the category of the best cocktail and the best bartender. When creating the winning cocktail “Summer”, Jaana has drawn inspiration from the last summer, which was exceptionally warm and tropical – as Jana likes the most – summer is always a joy for everyone. “It’s not been long since the summer passed, but we already tend to forget the most beautiful period of the year. So, with this cocktail, I wanted to remind everyone of summer, be it in 1974, 2000 or 2021, “said Jana.

The bright appearance of the winning cocktail symbolizes lasting beauty and freshness. The cocktail includes: “Rüübe” chilli-blackcurrant handmade vodka, lime juice, champagne syrup, fresh strawberry, egg white. The cocktail has a fresh and slightly sweet nuance and a spicy aftertaste. Strawberry slices decorating the drink and champagne syrup take everyone’s memories to a summer garden party, where a glass of bubble drink with fresh strawberries wasn’t missing from any party. The “Summer” cocktail can be enjoyed both before and after a meal. The lightness, attractive appearance and liveliness of the drink is also very suitable as a welcoming drink on festive occasions.

What makes the cocktail exceptional is a very rare ingredient – champagne syrup. This unique component is also made by Jana, and it is the champagne syrup that gives the cocktail its sweetness. “Often in restaurant work, an open bottle of champagne loses its bubble and we are forced to throw away this precious masterpiece. But when it is revived by cooking it in syrup, a new product is born. Just like the green transformation, “explains Jaana.

“We want to highlight and introduce Estonian small producers for their incredibly good products. The brand new handcrafted delicious vodka from the Estonian little brewer Surakas chilli-blackcurrant handcrafted vodka called “Rüübe” gives the cocktail its boost,” Jana added.

NOK NOK restaurant manager Ruslan Viherpuu: “The award of the Best Bar/Restaurant was brought home by the hard work and cohesion of the whole team.
